In convergent plate boundaries new land is being created, subduction at convergent plate boundaries recycles old land. There are two types of crusts. One is continental crust, it is less dense, oldest rock, and it floats on the top. The other one is oceanic crust, it is more dense, youngest rock, and it subducts below continental plates. In transform boundaries crust is not produced nor destroyed at this type of boundary. It is a San Andreas fault example. There are three types of plate converges. One is oceanic crust towards continental crust, oceanic crust towards oceanic crust, and the last one is oceanic crust towards continental crust. Convergent boundaries produce the most powerful earthquakes.
